skill in action

60 hr advanced vinyasa teacher training

This Vinyasa Intensive training has been specifically designed for current yoga teachers and recent graduates of a 200-hour TT who want to deepen their knowledge of human anatomy & physiology, understand Vinyasa yoga sequencing & timing, refine teaching techniques and take their offerings to a higher level by incorporating the teachings from yoga's greatest masterpiece, The Bhagavad Gita.

Building upon everything you’ve learned so far, you’re ready to refine your craft in order to provide your students with life affirming experiences through clear instruction, sound biomechanics, precise action cues, balanced sequences, well-rounded classes, inspiring themes and overall solid teaching.

These are the three main components of the program:

  1. Anatomy of the hips & shoulders

  2. Vinyasa sequencing & teaching methodology

  3. Philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita

We’ll start the day with 30 minutes of Meditation & Pranayama followed by a dynamic practice. Afterwards, while the body is energised and the mind alert, we’ll study in detail the anatomy of the two main girdles of our body, the hips & the shoulders. Understanding how these parts operate is crucial for the description and the cuing of the form and action in every pose.

After lunch, we’ll dedicate an hour a day to digest one of the most remarkable spiritual text ever written, The Bhagavad Gita. This ancient masterpiece on how to live in this world will be at the center of the philosophical discussions during the training. Every afternoon we’ll deconstruct the text together to extract the main teachings and reflect on how to use them to theme a class and also in our daily lives.

Participants must bring their own copy of the text. Any translation works, Stephen Mitchell’s version is my favourite.

The rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to refining teaching methodology and techniques, biomechanics and decoding vinyasa sequencing. There will be a theoretical presentation of different topics and time to implement them.

Finally, we’ll close off the day with a restorative practice to put the mid to rest.

Sharpen the tools that you already have and add some more to your belt to become a powerful catalyst for your students’ transformation.
