Sri Lanka - Immersion Retreat

  • Jasper House Nilwella Sri Lanka (map)

Join Nico and Claire for a combination of powerful yoga practices while diving into the philosophy of the Yoga Sutras in a tropical location, where you’ll stay in an open-concept villa and wake up to the sound of monkeys and exotic birds in the surrounding coconut groves.

A yoga retreat is unique opportunity to step out of your daily life and reflect upon it from a distance. The Yoga Sutras, the most authoritative classical text of Yoga, are a compilation of teachings from the highest spiritual vision, that of a still mind. These "threads of wisdom”, which also include the well-known “eight limbs of yoga”, offer guidelines on how to embark in a meaningful and purposeful life. Learn more about the sutras and how they can help you in your own personal journey. This will enable you to gain a better perspective of the greater picture and support you in moving forward in life in a more balanced, sustainable and joyful way, on and off the mat.

For eleven days, Claire and Nico will be offering a complete Yoga program in which you will be able to observe and practice with two unique teachers, who come from different backgrounds but share a common goal. Their different perspectives about the practice will support you in your desire to live a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.

During this quality time together, you will gain deeper insights and refinements about the practices of Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, and the Sutras.

This retreat is suitable for all levels of practice, except for absolute beginners.

Travel / Transfer
To get to Jasper House you will need to fly to Colombo or the much smaller Airport of Matalla. Airport transfers to Jasper Houser (Colombo 4 hours / Matalla 1,5 hours) can be arranged by us for the cost of USD 120.- (Colombo) / USD 55.- (Matalla).
The closest train station is located in Matara, a 45 min / 1 hour drive away from the retreat center. The costs for a taxi transfer to Matara is USD 15.-. The price for a tuk tuk is USD 9.-.

We recommend arriving a few days earlier in Sri Lanka to get over the jetlag before the retreat starts. If some students plan to spend the first couple of days in Colombo (we have been told that the alle Face Hotel is great to arrive…), we might organize a group transfer from this one hotel to the retreat center in the morning of Saturday, April, 27, 2019.

If you choose to be picked up from the airport/train station or if you are interested in this group transfer, please let us know on the application form.
